This year we are having a bouncy castle and Sportsability Games including Boccia and Goalball for the visually impaired. We have teamed up with the Fit for Life project and Cornwalls Sports Disability Officer to provide fun activities. Attending the Cornwall (dis)Ability Awareness day provides an opportunity for people to come and find out about our services. We will have information on benefits, accessible tourism accommodation and visitor attractions, countryside walks which are suitable for the less mobile, recycling and waste collection services and lots more.
We are also hoping that people will come and tell us what we can do to make our services more accessible to all. A partnership between Pedal back the Years and North Cornwall District Council has set up this ride for local people to improve health and well-being. The ride proved to be popular and it is hoped more people will join in as time goes on. This ride will also be taking place on North Cornwall’s Festival of Cycling Day on the 26th September at the Dragon Leisure Centre.
BMT depreciation report, This is a lovely ride that is free, you just need to bring a long a bike or you can receive free hire for your first ride. The route is six miles in total and is on moderate quiet roads and off road tracks perfect for beginners or those that are a bit wobbly.
Negotiations between the DPA’s Defence Quality Assurance Group Leader and the DLO’s Director Programmes have concluded with the two parties signing a Customer Supplier Agreement. The agreement breaks new ground for the Head of Specialisation (HoS) concept in that, for the first time, a DLO HoS will be hosted in the DPA. North Cornwall District Council has been working in partnership with Pedal back the Years to enable this ride to place and will be providing support and encouraging local leisure centre users to enjoy the free fresh air over the next few months.
